Allcom Electric has been servicing California since 1986. We have grown and molded throughout the years while emerging markets came and went. We have constantly remained a strong, capable contractor serving both incredibly high-tech, high-profile clients as well as the mom-and-pop businesses. Allcom Electric maintains a strong presence throughout the west coast with office locations in the San Francisco Bay Area and Orange County, and we are capable of completing work in any area of California. We also recently acquired our Nevada State Contractor’s License for both line voltage and low voltage, and are rapidly expanding our range throughout the state of Nevada.

Our strategic endeavors into new geographical markets have led us to working on obtaining our Nevada license which we hope to branch out there soon.

History

Allcom Electric had humble beginnings as All Electric in 1986. On the eve of his first child being born, Founder and CEO Mike Neil quit his job and started Electrical Contracting. With two other employees he built custom homes and commercial TI’s in San Francisco. After years working in the field it was time to aim big and Mike started another division, Allcom, which was dedicated to low voltage installations. In 2003, the two divisions were merged to form Allcom Electric and the real work began. In 2006, Allcom Electric penetrated into the southern California market, and has continued to grow across the west. Growing on their formula of success in new markets, they have expanded their service area to include all of California and, in 2016, Nevada.

Hand grown and nurtured from its inception, Allcom Electric has grown into what it is today and continues to thrive and grow despite rough economic times, turning increasing revenues year after year.

Safety

At Allcom Electric we understand that electrical construction is an inherently dangerous profession that requires a rigorous and comprehensive safety program. Allcom Electric maintains a behavior-based program that engages our team members from the first day of employment and governs workplace conduct throughout their careers. We do this by having a dedicated Safety Department whom keeps each person accountable for not only their actions but the actions of their team members. We keep a strict drug free workplace; all team members are subject to random drug testing.  Our safety objectives are:

  • Commitment for ongoing support from each and every level of management and personnel
  • Assigned responsibilities and accountabilities for the safety program
  • Establish lines of communication involving management and employees at all levels for safety and health reasons
  • Completion of comprehensive surveys and periodic self-inspections
  • Establishment of effective measures of hazards identification, correction, and control
  • Implementation of effective orientation and training programs

Our Team

Mike Neil

CEO

Mike grew up in South San Francisco and has a degree in electrical engineering. He then went to work as an electrical manufacturing engineer. Soon he developed a desire for electrical construction and became a Journeyman electrician.

Then, in 1986 on the eve of his first child being born, he started Allcom Electric. During the Dot Com era he became RCDD Certified. Mike has many passions primarily flying, which led him to obtain his pilot’s license in 2007. He also enjoys horseback riding, fishing, hunting, and spending time at Lake Don Pedro.

Susan Neil

CFO/Controller

Susan Neil has served as Chief Financial Officer, Controller, and Partner of Allcom Electric since the company incorporated in 2003. Prior to that, she was the controller, human resource, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and marketing manager since joining Allcom Electric in 1988.
Her responsibilities and authority include contract execution, business planning, budgeting, financial reporting, analysis, and procurement of banking lines, bonding, and insurance. She manages cash, accounts receivables, accounts payable, and human resources.
Susan grew up in Pacifica, California. She studied Accounting and Finance at Hayward State University. Prior to joining Allcom Electric, she worked in the Real Estate, Construction, and Development fields in various capacities. In her free time, she volunteers at her church and enjoys snow skiing, water skiing, house boating, traveling, and flying with her husband Mike.

Nick Neil

Vice President

Nick started as a shop sweeper and worked his way through the company. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Entrepreneurship from San Jose State University. Nick’s extensive knowledge of the electrical trade and a thorough knowledge of the business behind the trade enabled him to branch Allcom Electric Inc. out and start the Southern California business development where he has opened the new office location.

Nick enjoys surfing, wakeboarding, snowboarding, scuba diving, and cooking. He is passionate about photography and is a member of the Professional Photographers of America.

John Lennon

Senior Estimator (Northern California)

John grew up in the South Bay and graduated from San Jose State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering and a Minor in Business Management. He started with Allcom Electric in 2002 as a junior estimator and over the years has become a Senior Estimator / Project Manager.

John’s expert knowledge in electrical, fire alarm and low voltage systems combined with his attention to detail makes him an asset to the company. He hold a Title 24 Acceptance Test Technician Certification provided by the NLCAA and is currently obtaining his NICET certification. With John’s years of experience, certifications and background, he assists in design build of projects that have not been fully engineered to meet customer needs but also meeting code requirements. He enjoys spending quality time with his family and friends, photography, and mountain biking.

Kevin Walter

Project Manager (Northern California)

Kevin joined Allcom Electric as an estimator and project manager after working for a few different general contractors. As he graduated from San Jose State with a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, he worked in both the accounting departments and operational departments of these companies.

As he quickly learned, sitting behind a desk all day was not the best fit. He enjoys getting out on job sites and communicating with both the employees in the field and with customers. Recently he has become a certified acceptance test technician by the NLCAA.  This allows him to provide competitive estimates of lighting projects and TI’s that have little engineering.  Kevin grew up with a father, and two uncles in the electrical trades creating a passion for this work.  When an opportunity arrived to join the Allcom team he was ready to work in the trade that he has the most passion.

His experiences in and out of the office as well as from large and small general contractors have created a small business mindset, big picture thinking, and a hands on approach that makes him a great addition to the Allcom Management & Estimating team. On his days off, Kevin enjoys the outdoors, boating, scuba diving, water skiing, snow skiing, and hunting.

Jennafer Walter

HR, Safety Coordinator (Northern California)

Jenna started at Allcom Electric at a young age, helping in the background here and there prepping and mailing marketing materials. Since then, she has worked in many other positions behind the scenes and has done a little of everything in the office from creating job numbers, scheduling, filing, accounts payable, requesting insurance certificates, answering the phones, and has even dabbled in take offs for the estimators.

After achieving a degree in Human Resources from San Jose State, she began doing payroll and is currently the HR and Office Manager. She enjoys making sure the employees benefits and needs are handled properly. In her spare time, Jenna is an independent Team Beachbody Coach and loves the outdoors, whether it’s scuba diving, hiking, water skiing, or snowboarding she’s always up for some fun.

Deric Wells

General Foreman (Southern California)

Deric started his Electrical career as a second job, doing side work with friends in the trade.  What started off as a second income for an ever increasing Family, has blossomed into a wonderful career with his second FAMILY here at ALLCOM.  He attended Palomar College and began working full-time as an electrician in the residential end of our industry.  From there he continued to work hard every day to acquire any and all knowledge he could to better himself in his field.  With over 12 years’ experience in the trade he has worked his way up the ranks. Acquiring his Journeyman license, and is currently working on acquiring his Master Electrician License.  Over the past 5 years he has offered countless hours and dedication into building our Southern California expansion into what it is today.  He is now Allcom’s SoCal General Foreman, where he helps to maintain and pass on Allcom’s standard of excellence to all areas of the field. Deric is a Husband to a Beautiful Wife, and Father to 6 awesome children.  In his spare time Deric Loves to enjoy traveling, fishing, golf, flag football, and most of all spoiling his wife and kids.  Family is what is most important to Deric, which is why Allcom Electric was a perfect fit for him. He is very active in his community as well. And has been coaching youth sports in his beautiful town of Temecula for over 10 years.
